Hi all! Now that 2020 is coming to an end, we can summarize some of the results of the existence of the “My Old Computer” channel, which is just under a year old. I’ll calculate how much I managed to earn from standard monetization and widgets. I’ll show you everything in numbers.

I have developed the video and gallery format poorly, I plan to start in the new year, this year the emphasis was on articles. The results are good considering the time of existence, competition and topic of the channel. I will develop the channel further, I hope next year there will be more achievements. I consider the connection of the Nirvana affiliate program to be a very good result, with which the development of the channel is accelerating. Participation in this program also imposes certain obligations on the author. This is only a plus, an incentive for further development of the channel and improving the quality of content. It’s great to receive emails from Nirvana’s management team and take part in testing new platform features, surveys, and the like.

The audience is constantly growing, the number of subscribers is increasing. It’s nice to communicate in the comments with decent people, but those who insult, are rude, and the like are sent to the “black list” and the comments are deleted. It is pointless to try to explain and prove anything to such people; for every answer you will receive even more insults. You can communicate with a person who makes comments, points out some inaccuracies on certain points of publications, in an adequate form. This is normal practice.

As for earnings, how much did you manage to earn?

I am not registered as a self-employed person, since I have an open individual entrepreneur. The total amount of income was 47,240 rubles , taking into account the activation of monetization from May 2020. Income from widgets is included in the indicated amount. The first months after monetization was activated, the income was quite modest, but as the channel developed, it only increased. The more you take part in the development of the channel, the more you earn, which is a pleasant bonus for the efforts of the author. It’s very good that Yandex Zen is developing so actively; it’s a pleasure to spend time on the site. And who, as a reader, and who, as an author, is up to each person to choose.
