Hi all! The last three smartphones were from different brands and manufacturers: Huawei, Sony and Xiaomi. I bought these gadgets new in the store. In the article I will tell you which company’s smartphone I plan to purchase next, based on my experience of use and impressions received.

I did not buy these gadgets immediately, but gradually. According to a simple scheme, I bought one, walked around for a while, bought another. I won’t talk about the smartphones I had before, let’s focus on the last three. I’ll tell you about them from the bad side, namely, what I didn’t like.

Honor 9. I bought this gadget when it was still considered a new product. It’s already difficult to remember at what cost, something around 20,000 rubles or more. I’ve been using this smartphone for about two years. During this time, I did not take it in for repair; it worked out its entire service life. I sold it on Avito for 10,000 rubles, I remembered this price.

Of the minuses:

• weak battery. Almost immediately after the purchase it became noticeable that the battery charge was not enough for a day of active use. But over a couple of years of use, the battery discharge rate was approximately the same, at least I did not notice any significant deviations.
• After exactly a year of use, yellow highlights and spots appeared along the edges of the display. I still don’t understand why this happened. I remembered the use period of 1 year, since the store’s warranty expired, and literally a week later these stains appeared.
• Auto focus on the main (rear) camera has disappeared. The reason is also unknown, perhaps after some minor fall.

Sony Xperia XZ1 . After the sale of Honor 9, I went to the store and bought a Sonya in August 2019. I made the decision spontaneously while in the store. I decided that there would be a high-quality gadget from Sony. By the way, I again don’t remember the exact cost, something around 24,000-25,000 rubles. I still have it, but will soon put it up for sale.

Of the minuses:

• Weak battery, the rate of discharge during active use was much higher than on the same Honor 9. I took it for repair to replace the battery, but it did not give any result, I just spent money. In hot weather it gets very hot and does not charge.
• The microphone often became clogged and the interlocutor had trouble hearing. Cleaned it several times.
• Quiet sound, but it depends on whoever, for me the sound seemed quiet enough.
• Several barely noticeable spots (light dots) have appeared that are visible on a white background.
• The auto focus of the main camera takes a very long time to set up; photos often turn out cloudy or of poor quality.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. I still use this gadget and am very happy with it. I purchased it in September 2020. But there are still some minor disadvantages.

Of the minuses:

• Inconvenient keyboard. Typing quickly is difficult; other letters are constantly typed out or replaced with unnecessary words. I downloaded a third-party application with a keyboard, it became a little better, but still sometimes reminds me of myself. The Sony XZ1 was a pleasure to type.
• Big screen. It is not convenient to operate with one hand; you have to use the second hand. The Sony XZ1 was more convenient to operate with one hand.
• Heavy. It falls out of your hands or jacket pocket very easily. It is weight that plays a key role in this. In the summer it will be a problem to wear it, for example, if you wear shorts.

But Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has many more advantages, I decided to stick with this brand, although it hasn’t been used for another year, maybe something will change. But even based on this time of use, it is in many ways superior to the models that I had previously. It’s not even a matter of the novelty of the model, but the quality of execution itself. I think the next smartphone will again be something from Xiaomi. I liked their approach and quality.
