Why modern smartphones “live” only two years

Hi all! Almost everyone now has smartphones; they have become a very integral part of our lives. It’s hard to live without a normal phone. If you take the average, then every two years you go and buy a new phone. I’ll tell you about the main points why I have to do this.

I decided to remember what devices I had previously, all of them had a two-year lifespan. I never chased new products, but changed them as needed. For my work, I definitely need a fully functioning device. But no matter what I buy, after two years some problems begin with them. I don’t take into account cases of mechanical damage, when you break the screen, damage the charging connector, or water gets in. It’s just that after two years of use I have to go and buy a new one. Although the functions I use are the same. I buy phones in the price segment of 20,000-30,000 rubles.

When your phone stops working adequately, sometimes you want to throw it in the trash. When your phone stops working adequately, sometimes you want to throw it in the trash.

Buying a new device does not add anything new to the functionality for me. I often use the camera for photos and various applications for work; I don’t play games. The main problem that arises after two years is the battery, it simply stops holding a charge adequately. On my last smartphone, I decided to change it to another one, the effect was zero. The channel has a separate article on this topic.

The second problem is the camera. At the time of purchase, it works great, the pictures come out good, I’m happy with it. In the process of work, you have to take a lot of photographs. After two years, the quality of the pictures becomes disgusting, taking a photo of something small becomes a problem. I don’t know what’s happening to it, perhaps due to the abrasions of the glass of the main camera. And the focus is hard to catch.

To take a photo, you have to try long and hard to catch the focus, mostly you get a blurry and unclear image. To take a photo, you have to try long and hard to catch the focus, mostly you get a blurry and unclear image.

The third is display burn-in. Lights appear, some dots, yellow spots appear. There is nothing that can cure this, only replacing the display module. And the quality of the parts leaves much to be desired; if you install a Chinese copy, the touchscreen on which may crack from a slight fall. The original is either insanely expensive or cannot be found at all.

Fourth – the device begins to slow down. It really starts to work slower, resetting to factory settings helps for a week, or even doesn’t change anything at all. In addition to the time spent re-installing the necessary applications and transferring important data.

Fifth reason. I won’t single out one thing, I’ll just list it. The quality of the signal, the connection is really starting to get worse. The audibility when talking with an interlocutor becomes worse (maybe you need to clean it, after two years the earpiece really gets dirty, but not on all models it can be easily cleaned, in some cases the display will have to be removed, and unnecessary opening of the phone can only do harm). And a few more minor defects that I don’t even want to write about.

The photo shows a bunch of all my old phones. The photo shows a bunch of all my old phones.

During the time I used my gadgets, I did not mechanically damage or drown them. In fact, they work normally for two years, after which I sell them. I’m buying something else, I’ve now purchased Redmi note 9 pro, there’s a review of it on the channel , after two months of use. But I suppose that in two years I will run for a new one again. I use Android phones exclusively, my wife uses an iPhone, but in fact, we have been buying new phones for the same two years.

It is clear that technology is moving forward and phones that were once new are quickly becoming obsolete. But my opinion is that the service life should be many times longer, and not two years. Someone buys used. phones and then suffers with them. You will be very lucky if you buy something normal and without hidden defects. The phone manufacturer is not interested in a long service life; the quality of components is getting worse and worse every year.

Thank you all for your attention, write in the comments, do you have the same situation or have you been walking around with your phones for five years and don’t know the problems. I would be grateful for subscribing to the channel and liking the article.
